Dr. Melissa Yeung is an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Medical Director of the BWH HLA Tissue Typing Laboratory, and an Associate Physician in the Renal Division of Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. In addition to her expertise in histocompatibility and immunogenetics, Dr. Yeung has over 10 years of clinical experience as a practising transplant nephrologist, specializing in the management of highly-sensitized patients. She is also Co-Director of the Renal course of the Harvard-MIT Program in Health Sciences & Technology for MD/PhD students.
Dr. Yeung’s research focuses on regulatory B cells in transplant tolerance and how we can delineate between pathogenic and non-pathogenic alloantibody. She has received Young Investigator/Physician-Scientist Awards from the American Transplant Congress, American Association of Immunology, American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, and American Society of Clinical Investigation.
